Here's to the right to vote...

There once was a US of A

That held an election day

Where everyone could

(They could and they should)

Vote, or there'll be hell to pay.

Ode to daylight savings time

There once was a girl who was drunk.

I'm afraid she was drunk as a skunk.

And yes, she was me!

I was so glad to be

Courageous and more full of spunk.

The night: it went on to empower

Until two o'clock came like a flower.

The clock hand turned back

And we felt so whack

For earning an extra hour!

Here's to stupid holidays...

There once was a girl with a grudge,

With a grudge that she just could not nudge.

She could write a song

Or a poem this long

But instead she will just eat some fudge.

Happy Halloween... have some candy.

Here's to forgetting...

There once was a girl who was set

On writing a blog to forget

'Bout things people say

That she takes the wrong way

But she couldn't rhyme "sensitive" yet.

Instead she is writing a verse

About writing a blog.  It's absurd!

Now she's making up rhymes

And she will, in good time,

Learn to not be an absolute nerd.*

*Both with my horrific rhyming and my over-sensitivity.

There once was a girl who was born

With large, muscular calves.  She's forlorn

Because ev-e-ry boot

She tries on is a hoot.

They don't zip-up (to her scorn).

But one day this girl found a store

That sold boots for large calves galore!

She clicked on the link

And picked ones in pink*

So her calves won't go naked no more.

*Of course, I didn't get them in pink.  But I got them in brown!!

There once was a girl named Daniela

Who knew how to sing a cappella.

She's wanted a blog

Way more than a dog

And she's ready to make this one stella'.

But blogs are way cooler when bound

By a theme that makes their world go 'round.

So here is her trick
